极品飞车8 是极品7的升级版，更好的画质，更好的车，更好的体验。这部作品完美的诠释了地下赛车，狂飙的感觉。而且这部作品里也有专业赛车的成分，可以在正规赛车场和对手一决高下。这代的车辆改装是不得不说的。真的很好。在外观上，可以使用各种让车辆更炫的零件和装备，甚至还可以加底盘彩灯，还可以添加液压装置，帅气的车内音响，在车辆性能方面，玩家可以几乎完全自主的设定车辆的所有参数，包括涡轮、ECU、变速箱参数、引擎输出曲线。专业元素为极品8添辉。这部作品到现在也是非常出色的作品。如果不是快餐型玩家，你会发现极品8是很出众的。

Need For Speed ：Carbon
优：游戏的剧情紧接极品9故事更曲折、加入车队合作、这次的山道很惊险刺激、很带感、有井X 、新加了一些跑车，比如帕加尼，camaroSS等，不需要MOD哦；
缺：游戏的光影效果不可以却不明显、顶级超跑有些是隐藏车比如柯尼塞格CCX，帕加尼zonda F，配置要求不高，但是对集成显卡的支持不好。
这次的极品飞车转移到了Carbon峡谷的山道上。子啊某种程度上可以成为“Most Wanted II”了。出极品10的时候，头文字D也正流行。或许也是受了它的影响吧。这次的主打是山道，很刺激惊险。当开着车狂飙在曲折的山道上进行追逐的时候，那种激动是无法言表的。

这次极品10也新加入了一个元素，就是玩家可以自己设定车体外观、更大自由的自己制作车身贴纸。这给DIY自己的爱车提供了良好的条件。但是在车辆改装方面，和9相比并没有太大提升，虽然可以对不同的零件进行调校，但是自由度有限。新的开放式地图也是很好的，大小和极品9的相当，但是景色就不如极品9了。北边的繁华和水库大坝的壮观很好。极品10里有一些隐藏车，包括超级跑车柯尼塞格CCX、帕加尼zonda F。而且还有 corolla GTS，开车在山道上疯狂漂移也有头文字D的感觉。喜欢玩漂移的朋友必玩！

Need for Speed: prostreet
优：首次挑战专业赛车模式，极品飞车系列里拟真模式的开山作、并且拥有nfs史上数量最多的车辆（通过解开隐藏车辆可以获得190+的车辆数量）、改装方面开始运用自制系统，配件选择也不在是以前一切按阶级选择、无论是外观零件还是涂装款式都可以让玩家自行设计。车损回归，碰撞会严重影响比赛。车辆性能更接近真实，不会有低级车秒杀高级车的情况了。界面强烈体现出街头风格，少量的剧情也有一定的代入感。画质有明显的而提高。
缺：游戏整体气场不够，作为一款拟真风格的游戏采用了嘻哈风格的界面不够正式。部分车辆使用不正常，比如布加迪威龙、迈凯轮F1等，这些车需要升级本版本或者找补丁才能正常使用。有时修改车体后车辆会出现拉伸网格的贴图错误。
这次对于拟真风格的挑战是一个很好的尝试。虽然操控比以前难了些，但也不奇怪，这次不会有200+KMH高速随随便便就过弯的情况了，想过弯就要减速走线，该减速减速。对于喜欢拟真赛车游戏的玩家也是个不错的选择，拟真中又充满休闲。这部游戏在赛道上也有进步，风景不错，细节很好，而且画质相比极品10来说也是个大进步。改装方面，外观零件会影响到车的空气动力性能。在美观和性能之间找到平衡也是有乐趣的事情。在性能调校方面，每辆车有恨不同的调校，这个体现的很好，当你自己调校出来的车行驶在赛道上超越别的车甚至套圈，这个感觉是无与伦比的。
★极品飞车12——无间风云：
Need for Speed: undercover
优：超大的开放地图，比极品9，极品10的都大，据说沿着外环转一圈要十多分钟。剧情也是到目前为止最好的，无间道一样的剧情。全新的AI、街车拐弯的时候也会打转向灯了；
缺：车辆性能比较假、画质很奇葩、改装系统比较一般、对手车作弊，落后了会神速超车。
这部极品12首次运用了电影式过场很棒，是由真人拍摄的、主演是Maggie Q，自由漫游重新开放，，并且场景也不像之前的rockport市与palmont市那么小，修正了上作中autosclpt的贴图错误，并收录了更多超级跑车，包括迈凯轮F1、帕加尼zonda F 、布加迪威龙，追加了追逐赛和破坏赛，比赛模式很多。画面方面，对于路面的刻画更加精细，在高速驶过的时候能看到路面的水花，界面也很美观，简洁而不失漂亮，藏身处画面中从远处传来的光并没有令人感觉刺眼，而是衬托了周围的环境，但画面没有逃出MW的阴影，过于暖的色调，街车的制作有些偷工减料。操控也是相当的灵活，但已经到达过于灵敏的程度了。这次的警匪追击也是比较不错的，没有极品9那种过于暴力的情况，当逃脱之后警车也会从各处包围过来。这次的作品可以说比较智能。这部作品虽然有一些缺点，也还是有不少亮点的。
★极品飞车13——变速：
Need for Speed: Shift
优：更趋向拟真、加入很多著名赛道、游戏画质画质不错，甚至比极品15更舒服、比15有激情，操控上比15更容易些。这代的涂装系统还是不错的，有颜色盘的设置，车身涂装制作也比较简单。
缺：车辆改装不够自由，只有规定的赛车风格车体套件，而且不能自己设定零件的大小样式。键盘党玩起来有难度，虽然可以解释为拟真，但是这样一部作品键盘党玩不舒服。

游戏操作风格延续了极品飞车14,强调爽快感，不过不同的是本作中不强调与**耗时间，而是尽力摆脱**，个别关卡路线很特殊，让人觉得很新奇。这次加入很多新的元素，比如QTE、检查点、加油站。这给游戏增加了不少新意，寒霜2引擎的效果还可以，车有重量感，光影效果也还可以，太阳照出来的光晕挺漂亮的。当然也有缺点，这次寒霜2的使用不好，画质不细，车身的细节体现的也不够好。有时候能看出就是贴图而已。车内效果很差，方向盘棱角分明，座椅也像是极品3的时代穿越来的。人物细节虽然很好，但是在赛车的感受就不如看人物爽了。至于剧情，几乎就没有剧情，而且剧情并不全，Jack为什么差点死在车里，为什么会被追，被谁追，通关之后怎么样一概没有交代，只能希望The Run II能解释。极品16的亮丽风光也是一大特色，在其中几关风景很漂亮，比如国家公园。也有令人激动兴奋的关卡，比如在雪山。也都成了极品飞车16里的经典。
